hospitality.POSITION SUMMARY:Performs basic ancillary skills to
assist provider to meet the specific needs of patients.DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists provider with exams, procedures and other
processes related to direct patient care under direct supervision.
This includes, but may not be limited to:Blood draws, venipuncture,
specimen collection, and completion of lab paperworkAdministering
IM, SQ, and ID medications and immunizations under provider
directionApplying splints as directed by providerSetting up
procedures as trained when ordered by providerTriages patients,
measures vital signs, and records information on patients'
chartsProvides timely follow up regarding lab results under the
direction of the providerPrepares treatment rooms for examination
of patients and brings patients from the waiting room to an exam
room in a timely mannerConsistently communicates with patients on
wait times, provides direction to the next step in the treatment
processMaintains clear, appropriate, and accurate
documentationNotifies provider of patients ready for exam, room
number, vitals, and chief complaintObserves and communicates
changes in the patients condition to the provider on
dutyParticipates in the completion of the daily checklist, as well
as any assigned duties and tasks necessary to maintain compliance
with Federal and State RegulationsChecks all supplies and
medications including sample medications for expiration
(monthly)Treats patients and co-workers consistent with the FastMed
Mission statement, Vision, Values and Compassionate
HospitalityAdheres to established policies and procedures,
objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and
infection control standards, as well as all protocols as ordered by
Chief Medical OfficerMaintains patient confidentiality, including
shredding of any patient informationMaintains appropriate licenses
and continuing educational requirementsParticipates in education
programs and attends meetings or training sessions as requiredMakes
suggestions to management for improving the clinics performance and
patients experienceCross trained to perform front desk operations
such as scheduling, answering phones, insurance verification and
other duties as assignedPerforms other duties as assigned to
promote high-quality, cost-effective patient care and an efficient,
productive work environmentESSENTIAL SKILLS, EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE:Education:Graduate of one of the following programs is
preferred:Medical Assistant or passing of CCMA
examination.Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA state license
required) with phlebotomy certificateEmergency Medical Technician
(EMT-A)ParamedicOr, graduate of another relevant program with CMO
approval;Or, possesses active Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) designationCertification: BLS
American Red Cross is required; American Safety Health Institute,
or National Safety Council are preferred.EXPERIENCE:6 months of
prior recent experience in a healthcare setting such as an
emergency department, urgent care or other ambulatory care clinic
