Job Description Job Description Senior Accountant Department: Finance Location: Nashville, TN Employment Type: Full-Time Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 Overview We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to support financial operations within a fast-growing organization. This role is responsible for advanced accounting functions, monthly close activities, financial analysis, and ensuring adherence to GAAP standards. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller and collaborate across departments to strengthen reporting accuracy, streamline processes, and support business growth. Key Responsibilities Execute monthly close procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Maintain and enhance internal controls while supporting compliance with accounting policies. Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting workflows. Analyze trends, operating metrics, and financial results to support management decisions. Prepare consolidated monthly P&L and balance sheet variance analysis. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies. Record, validate, and consolidate transactions to ensure accurate financial data. Maintain the general ledger, subsidiary transfers, and trial balance preparation. Support bank reconciliations and assist with tasks required to meet close deadlines. Manage fixed asset ledgers, depreciation schedules, and assigned balance sheet accounts. Participate in ad-hoc projects as needed. Research accounting issues and provide recommendations on appropriate treatment. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and exercise strong judgment and decision-making. Uphold confidentiality and organizational ethical standards. Required Qualifications 3 years of accounting experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Proficiency with accounting and reporting systems. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet critical deadlines. Solid journal entry, accruals, and ledger analysis skills. Experience with month-end close processes. Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency; strong Microsoft Office skills. Ability to work effectively in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, organization, and time-management abilities. Self-driven with strong problem-solving capabilities and initiative. Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ASC 805 (Business Combinations), ASC 842 (Leases), and ASC 606 (Revenue). Purchase accounting experience. Experience with Sage Intacct.
