The Manager of Unsecured Bankruptcy Operations is responsible for
the management and administration of all loading, matching,
researching and filing of unsecured BK Proofs of Claim (POCs) –
both procedurally and operationally. In addition, this manager is
responsible for all required post-purchase and post-claim filing
activities including: filing transfers of claim, amendments and
withdrawals, research and disposition of Direct Payments or
payments on putback accounts, trustee refund/preference payments,
and discharge reviews. This position will report to the Director of
Unsecured Bankruptcy Operations and Client Servicing. Roles &
Responsibilities Analyze Bankruptcy Servicing System (BKS)
inventory and servicing status/queue status based on the current BK
case status in order to drive necessary portfolio moves and
adjustments Review portfolio level contract to ensure work effort
restrictions or special handling requirements (such as not filing
interest) are communicated and understood by the Bankruptcy team
Supervise Import of placement (PLX), recall (RCX), and Data Update
(DUF) files into the Bankruptcy Servicing System Execute Account
Movement process to move accounts through the workflow for filing
Verify BKS accurately reflects portfolio specs based on the
contract terms Serve as an escalation point of contact regarding
media ordering and tracking Investigate accts on weekly direct pay
report to determine and perform needed action to minimize direct
payments and ensure we have received all funds disbursed post sale
Communicates with and maintains excellent relationships with
seller/buyer contacts as well as the Trustee’s Creates reports for
senior management of bankruptcies remaining in a pending status
Process monthly remittance files and request funds for forwarding
to current owner of accounts Manage the AskBK mailbox and ensure
CTQ’s are met Compare current case information in BKS to Bankruptcy
Notification System (BKN) to support analysis of accounts and
ensure minimal legal and financial risk Maintains reporting and
tracking statistics using available dashboards and reporting
Supervise and oversee matching of owned or serviced accounts to
reported bankruptcy cases Supervise the research of matched
case-account pairs to ensure there is an appropriate legal standing
to file a POC using the provided Bankruptcy case research resources
through Phin Solutions and/or PACER. This research must especially
focus on accounts being resolved in prior bankruptcy cases Perform
Supervisory or Administrative audits on matching and research work
in process; manage escalations Supervise and oversee Filing of
proof of claims, transfer of claims, withdrawal and amended claims
Review proof of claims and transfer of claims forms Manage and
exercise firm oversight for all filed documents via the Internet
Serves as a liaison with Courts, Districts, and Trustee's offices
to increase access to EZ/ECF Track and process Trustee/BK Attorney
refund request Maintains acceptable levels of accuracy and
productivity – ensuring all updates to account or case information
are properly documented. Ensure processes are documented and
updated as required Direct all new hire training and cross training
of staff Review error reporting / QA audits with team members May
learn and be expected to assist with other processes outside
contract management Assist in identifying operational risks and
escalating issues to management Ensure adherence of Resurgent
Capital Services BK Policy and Procedures, investor requirements,
federal, state and regulatory agencies, rules, laws, regulations,
and statutes to the extent they impact the processes managed.
Skills & Qualifications 5 years previous experience in Bankruptcy /
Financial Services Industry including loss mitigation, bankruptcy,
foreclosure, and collections preferred Proven leadership/management
experience Ability to work independently and adapt to change with
minimal supervision Self-motivated and driven to ensure accuracy
and audit thoroughness Detail oriented with strong analytical and
organization skills, able to digest complex issues and develop
creative solutions Excellent verbal and written communication
skills Proficient using MS Office Educational Requirements 4-year
