Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1 years Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Seeking a full-time Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist to support students in an onsite school setting in Kannapolis, NC. This contract position involves working closely with a caseload of 10-12 students, providing specialized educational services tailored to meet their unique communication and learning needs. The ideal candidate will hold a valid NCDPI Deaf and Hard of Hearing Professional Educators License, demonstrating expertise in this specialized field. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver direct instruction and support to deaf and hard of hearing students within the school environment. - Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs and educational goals. - Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers to promote student success. - Utilize specialized strategies and communication methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. - Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly. Qualifications and Experience: - Current NCDPI Deaf and Hard of Hearing Professional Educators License is required. - Experience working with deaf/hard of hearing students in an educational setting. - Strong understanding of communication modalities and assistive technology for deaf/hard of hearing learners. - Ability to manage a small caseload effectively while maintaining individualized attention. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Location: - Onsite role based in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Work Schedule: - Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
