Job Description The Research Technician will work in clean
laboratory and growth chamber settings, focusing on plants, soil,
and plant pathogens. The role involves preparing testing supplies,
culturing inoculum, planting, plant care, inoculation, disease
assessment, and routine cleaning of labs and chambers. While
experience with sterile technique and culturing fungi is preferred,
it is not required. The candidate should be detail-oriented,
organized, self-motivated, and capable of working both
independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities Prepare testing supplies. Culture inoculum for
experiments. Plant and care for plants. Perform inoculation and
disease assessment. Conduct routine cleaning of labs and chambers.
Essential Skills Detail-oriented and organized. Ability to work
independently and collaboratively. Flexibility and reliability in
various conditions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience
in plant care or plant pathology/nematology is a plus. Experience
with sterile technique and culturing fungi is preferred. Work
Environment The work environment includes both clean laboratory
settings and growth chambers with varying temperatures. The role
may require working in dusty, warm, or strictly clean conditions.
Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and gloves
will be provided. The position does not involve driving or working
at heights, and there are no chemicals involved other than bleach
for cleaning purposes. stlsci Job Type & Location This is a
Contract position based out of Chesterfield, MO. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility
