This highlights our growth, success, and commitment to our team and culture.The main goal of the Director of Corporate Land Entitlement and Development is to support each Division's entitlement and/or development team in achieving their goals by implementing Stanley Martin Way processes and policies. The role involves occasional travel to divisions for in-person meetings and site visits.Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Review land acquisition projects for feasibility, including land due diligence, preliminary and site construction plans, and budgets.
  • Assist teams with value engineering solutions related to site grading, utility design, and construction.
  • Guide land development general contractor scoping, bidding, negotiating, and contracting.
  • Ensure project management best practices are followed, including regular progress meetings.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Finance and Accounting to review land development budgets quarterly.
  • Support land reporting to aid leadership decision-making.
  • Work with Corporate Field Operations to ensure safety policies are followed and lead safety meetings as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, SWPPP, and other regulations, recommending best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and represent the company professionally.

      • College degree preferred
      • Minimum 15+ years relevant experience in planning, design, and construction
      • At least 10 years in residential development
      • Experience in land acquisition, planning, engineering, and entitlement processes
      • Skilled in scoping, bidding, negotiating, and contracting
      • Knowledge of risk management, project management, finance, and legal processes
