Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Telemetry Location: Winston Salem, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,930 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/23/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years, with 1 year of direct Medical-Surgical experience required. License: Current state nursing license required. Certifications: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS; ACLS preferred but not required. Must-Have: Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience, including 1 year in Medical-Surgical nursing. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional requests for time off may result in cancellation. Unit does not accept first-time travelers; must have at least 2 successful contracts. Local candidates are accepted with a rate difference. IV start and telemetry skills are required. Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias are essential skills. Experience in Medical-Surgical neurology is necessary. Patient ratios on the unit are 1:6. Contract acceptance is for a duration of 13 weeks. Every other weekend is required. Frequent floating may be required to other areas, including COVID care units. Primary patient diagnoses include stroke patients and possible neurosurgery cases. Other diagnoses may include epilepsy, subdural hematomas, and traumatic brain injuries. Unit features a 4 bed epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU), where training for nurses is provided. Electronic health record system utilized on the unit is Epic. Staffing requires participation in a 36-hour orientation. Floating is required to other Medical-Surgical areas as needed. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to start. No block scheduling can be guaranteed in advance. Candidate must be comfortable floating without restrictions. Travelers may need to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. No time off is permitted during the first week of the assignment. Pending licenses are acceptable for submission but must be in hand upon start. Travel pairs are allowed but must work on different units. Two manager supervisor references from the past 12 months are preferred. Travelers cannot work more than 5 consecutive days or exceed 60 hours in a week. Modules must be completed pre-start and annually.
