Roles & Responsibilities Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults in a behavioral health setting Perform thorough behavioral health assessments and monitor patient status throughout the shift Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the care team Administer medications safely and document accurately in the electronic medical record Use therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe environment Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including psychiatry, social work, and therapy staff Educate patients and families on care plans, coping strategies, and discharge goals Maintain accurate, timely documentation and escalate concerns when necessary Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — NC licensure or appropriate compact privilege recommended Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (behavioral health experience strongly preferred) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; psychiatric de-escalation/CPI training a plus Comfortable administering psychotropic medications and working with acutely ill behavioral health patients Excellent communication, assessment, and crisis-intervention skills Ability to pass facility background checks and pre-employment screening Education Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Knowledge & Skills Strong behavioral health assessment and monitoring skills Effective therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques Medication administration and safe handling of psychotropic agents Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation Ability to prioritize, triage, and respond to safety-related events Collaborative teamwork and clear interdisciplinary communication Benefits Generous housing support and travel assistance to make your assignment comfortable Medical, Dental & Vision coverage available to keep you and your family healthy 401K retirement savings plan to help you plan for the future Life Insurance and other protection benefits for peace of mind Paid Time Off to recharge between assignments Licensure assistance and reimbursement to keep your credentials current Referral bonus program for bringing great clinicians to the team A supportive, collaborative team that values your experience and wellbeing Travel Perks: Explore Asheville, NC Asheville is a mountain-living paradise with plenty to explore on your days off.
