Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Winston Salem, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,894 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/12/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Winston Salem, North Carolina, 27157! Job Title: RN - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU or PCU experience, CVICU preferred License: Required RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - General nursing skills - General ICU skills - Experience with cardiac patient types - Experience with Swanz and Impella Description: New unit opening soon with a focus on high acuity PCU that will transition to ICU. Unit will initially consist of 10-12 beds. Patient types include heavy cardiac cases such as CHF, cardiomyopathy, shock, and post-cath. Expected patient ratios will start at 1:3-4 and transition to 1:2-3. Experience with wound care and dressing changes is required. Candidates must be able to perform defibrillation, EKG interpretation, manage and pull sheaths, and operate BiPAP/CPAP. Unit will care for fresh open heart patients once transitioned. Experience with LVAD and post-cardiac transplant patients is highly preferred, but training will be provided. Travelers may float to other units within their scope of practice. Support within the department includes a CNA and 24/7 respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and intensivists. Technology utilized includes EMR systems and IV Pumps.
