Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Monroe, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,894 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/23/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required License: Current nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Critical care experience with ventilated patients Experience with tracheostomies, chest tubes, and critical drip maintenance Proficient in central line maintenance, arterial lines, and cardiac rhythm interpretation Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) Description: The role involves working in a 14-bed intensive care unit. The average daily patient census is around 14 patients. Patients are primarily adults with conditions such as sepsis, DKA, strokes, respiratory failure, and surgical recovery. The nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:2-3, depending on staffing levels. The unit accepts first-time travelers. Support within the department includes a CNA covering HUC duties during the night. Cameras in patient rooms allow for remote triage RN support. Charge nurses are available and may be involved in rapid response or code team situations. Phlebotomy and respiratory therapy services are available 24/7. An intensivist and hospitalist are on site during the day, with virtual critical care support at night. Nurses conduct their own lab draws in the ICU. Floating to other areas may occur, primarily to care for ICU or PCU patients. Two shifts are designated for on-the-unit orientation. Scheduling includes a weekend rotation, requiring 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week cycle, with the ability to request specific days. Holiday expectations require the staff to work 50% of scheduled holidays. Scrub colors are navy blue, and there is no on-call requirement. Flexible scheduling may allow for the option to pick up additional shifts. Candidates must possess strategies for critical care, telemetry, and progressive care.
