Job Description:
HCA Healthcare invites applications for the position of Nurse
Extern in the General Surgery department. This role provides an
exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a surgical
environment while contributing to our patient-centered care
philosophy. Working closely with seasoned nurses and surgeons, the
extern will assist in preoperative and postoperative care, ensuring
all activities align with HCA Healthcare’s standards of excellence.
Assist in the preparation of patients for surgery and follow
post-operative care procedures. Support the surgical team in
setting up operating rooms and organizing surgical equipment.
Document patient information and surgical outcomes accurately.
Learn and adhere to strict hygiene and infection control standards.
Participate in departmental meetings and educational workshops.
Basic knowledge of surgical procedures and terminology. Strong
communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow complex
instructions. High attention to detail and precision. Capability to
maintain composure under pressure. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Basic Life Support
(BLS) Certification required or must be obtained within 3 months of
hire. HIPAA certification is favorable.
