Position Overview: Role: Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Setting: 36-bed unit with an average census of 36 patients Patient types include cardiac arrhythmias, pulmonary diseases, mechanical ventilation, IV drips, and complex wound care RN to patient ratio: 1:3-4; CNA support with ratio 1:9 Experience: Minimum 18 months in PCU required; first-time travelers accepted License/Certifications: RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Technology: EMR (EPIC), Alaris IV pump, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips monitors Key Responsibilities: Manage critical nursing functions including trach care, ventilator management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and administration of blood products Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and case managers Utilize virtual nursing resources for admissions, discharges, and medication verification Float within designated regional facilities as needed, ensuring flexibility and support across the system Participate in departmental orientation and ongoing team collaboration fostering excellent teamwork and family-oriented culture Additional Details: Scrub color: Navy blue for RNs Free parking on-site Orientation includes 2 days departmental plus new employee orientation Supportive unit culture emphasizes teamwork and professional growth Radius rule: permanent address must be 50 miles outside the home unit This travel assignment offers a rewarding clinical environment with diverse patient populations and robust interdisciplinary support.
