Job Description Installation & Configuration Install and configure fiber-optic networks in accordance with design specifications and link loss budgets Set up and configure Optical Network Terminals (ONTs) to meet customer service requirements (training provided) Network Maintenance & Repair Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal network performance Troubleshoot and repair fiber network issues, including splicing and terminating fiber up to 144-count Perform emergency repairs and restoration as needed Testing & Validation Test fiber networks using power meters, OTDRs, and related equipment Verify signal integrity, performance, and acceptable loss budgets Support network validation and certification activities Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate documentation of fiber infrastructure, including splicing diagrams, routing updates, and maintenance history Record anomalies, corrective actions, and any changes to network plans Support network audit and handover documentation (in coordination with QA or audit functions) Field Operations & Infrastructure Work Float fiber to prevent damage and maintain network integrity Perform excavation at Distribution Access Points (DAPs) as required for maintenance or expansion Inspect, clean, organize, and secure fiber in manholes and distribution joints Perform fiber patching, routing, and documentation at Points of Presence (POPs) Quality & Safety Ensure all work meets quality, installation, and splicing standards Maintain proper labeling, cable management, and installation quality Adhere to all safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements Customer Interaction Communicate with customers to understand service needs and ensure satisfaction Educate customers on equipment capabilities, including 2-Gig services and device requirements Availability & On-Call Participate in an on-call rotation, including evenings and weekends, to support emergency maintenance and repairs Additional Responsibilities Perform additional duties as assigned to support network reliability, quality, and customer experience Lightworx provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type.
