Maintenance Manager - Device Assembly & Packaging

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the technical and administrative leadership of the Production Maintenance Team for the Device Assembly and Packaging areas. This team is responsible for execution of maintenance supporting the RTP site, plant, or flow, and for ensuring consistent application of proactive maintenance and reliability programs. The RTP site will be a 24/7 facility with multiple manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety - Ensures that all team members are knowledgeable and compliant regarding safety procedures, policies, permits and practices. Initiates and leads accident, near miss reviews and incident notifications. Ensures proper housekeeping procedures are maintained.
  • Quality - Responsible for team's compliance and meeting the quality standards as defined by cGMPs, the Global Quality Standards, local procedures
  • Manage People Effectively - Responsible for managing staffing, training and daily maintenance operations across shifts up to 7 days a week, including attendance, overtime, operational issues, performance management, development planning and reporting of results
  • Investigates Team deviations as needed
  • Owns incident reporting, investigating, and corrective measures
  • Maintenance Excellence -
    • Ensures quality of Maintenance Execution
    • Responsible for Team Training and Development and ensuring team is current on training prior to assigning work
    • Responsible for Maintenance KPI's associated with Team's performance
    • Removes barriers that impact team performance
    • Aligns Team Priorities to Support Production Plan
    • Interfaces with customers to ensure alignment
    • Completes weekly Practice vs Procedure Checks Basic Requirements:
      • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
      • 5+ Years of Experience in Maintenance or Manufacturing Support Additional Preferences:
        • Knowledge of how to operate within a CMMS system
        • Previous experience in a pharmaceutical or GMP environment
        • Recognized strong team leadership skills/experience
        • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
        • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (both oral and written)
        • Strong talent development skills, especially coaching and people development
        • Solid regulatory compliance knowledge (GMP, OSHA, etc.)
        • Device Assembly and Packaging manufacturing experience
        • Demonstrated ability to provide high-level customer service
        • Demonstrated ability to work without close supervision
        • Demonstrated ability in problem solving Additional Information:
          • Position supports a 24/7 operation and is expected to be flexible in maintaining availability for support in decision making and issue resolution as necessary to operate the facility.
          • Must be willing to work overtime during peak periods (shutdowns, etc.)
          • Must be willing to carry a cell phone and respond to off-hour emergencies when necessary.
          • Minimal travel required.
